The sidewalls, bottom of the backpack and top of the backpack have an adjustable strap with a buckle closure - used to compress the backpack, more specifically to reduce its capacity with respect to the contents. Shortening the backpack's straps allows it to be flattened, for example when the main compartment is practically empty and only the smaller pockets are being filled. This allows the backpack to remain stable and largely influences its use. The adjustable straps can also be useful for attaching carried equipment, e.g. jackets, caravans, tents, camouflage nets, etc. The harness also has metal rings that allow you to attach e.g. compass, etc.
